hey everybody-
I'm curious if anybody here is familiar with the UFIP Genio series cymbals. It's far more affordable than the UFIP Class series but that could mean far worse in sound too. I believe it's their first good quality cast cymbal but I could be wrong. Any info would be super. thanks

I think that there is a review of these cymbals in the December issue of MD. If I am not mistaken. PT>

Check out Stagg cymbals... they are killer! They sound very unique. Don't let the name fool you, or the price (i have picked up 12" splashes for $35 and hats for $90 AFTER tax). The name is kinda weird but i have gotten past it, it does sound cheap-ish. I am quite the cymbal-whore and have quite a few... well on my way to the triple digits, these are my favs as far as crashes, hats, and splashes. I haven't yet found a good ride with them yet, but i haven't had a great variety to choose from since all the ones i have heard are heavy and i don't go for that now. I am sure the lighter rides are great, judging from the other light stuff, they would probably be along the same line. They remind me of the UFIP's because they have a trashy undertone, overtone, whatever you wanna call it. Anyways, just throwing that out there. Oh, but feel free to not check them out, it would lend to my "signature sound" if no one had the same stuff i did
